 Bortz Product Design Celebrates Multiple Wins at the 2024 Annual Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design Awards
BPD is thrilled to announce our co-recipient status for three prestigious awards at the 2024 Annual Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design (PIDA) Awards. Gold Award for Sustainable Packaging Design In collaboration with Trendpac, we secured the Gold Award for Sustainable Packaging Design. This award recognizes companies that have developed innovative packaging solutions incorporating sustainability considerations. This accolade is particularly significant for BPD, as sustainability—focusing on resource preservation and minimizing environmental impact—is a top priority to us. The Green Action bottle exemplifies these ideals, being made from 100% recycled material and significantly reducing product weight. To maintain strength, the bottle’s structure was meticulously designed, utilizing multi-panels and embossing techniques. Bronze Award for Design Innovation of the Year – Domestic & Household Category The Green Action bottle also earned a Bronze Award in the Design Innovation of the Year Award – Domestic & Household Category. Bronze Award for Design Innovation of the Year – Beverage Category As part of the Wellman Packaging team, BPD won another Bronze Award for the Themocup in the Design Innovation of the Year Award – Beverage Category. This innovative product offers a solution for pre-dispensed powdered beverages, requiring only water to be added at the time of use. The Themocup simplifies construction, reduces material usage, incorporates thermal insulation, and adds strength while light-weighting to reduce environmental impact. A Night of Celebration and Recognition The awards night was a memorable event and I applaud the many other recipients with special note to Nick Campbell of Wellman Packaging who made an inspiring call to action to the packaging industry to take a greater responsibility in reducing its environmental footprint.
